Sights of Vancouver (including the hair dresser)

Today we had some time to look at some of the attractions of Vancouver. The highlight being Stanley Park. This 400ha park is recognized around the globe as one of the great parks of the world! Its natural west coast atmosphere offering a back drop of some very tall cedar, hemlock and fir trees. The photos of the totem poles were also taken in the park.

Granville Island was another touristy type place I visited. Great food and vegetable market, galleries, and other unique shops. Photos taken from Granville Island.

I was able to find my way around Vancouver quite well and drivers seem very courteous of cyclists. The photos give you an idea of what the city scape is like.

Oh, another place worth a visit if your into outdoor activities is the MEC Store. (Mountain Equipment Co-op) on Broadway Street. It is huge and they have a great range of stuff. To buy from there will cost you $5 Membership then you can access what I think is reasonable prices.

And lastly, we still haven’t heard the last from John about his haircut today….I wonder why?

  1. Hey John! You went for it, eh? S o much for staying warm in the mountains. 🙂 I hope you found some ear warmers!

  2. Hi John – I’ve just uploaded my Canada photos to facebook – so I thought I’d check out how you were getting on – so jealous that you are still in Canada (but not envious of your task!)
Was lovely to meet you in Stanley Park – can I please point out that I am NOT picking my nose in the photo by the totem poles 😉
Good luck with the rest of your trip
    Zoe
