Travelling by bicycle is a great way to not only see the countryside but also increases your chances of seeing wildlife (and unfortunately road kill). Over the last few days travelling through the Lakes area of Ontario we have come across a few animals we would like to share with you. Unfortunately a big moose, a live beaver and another black bear were all too quick for us to get a photo so they will just have to remain collections of our own memories.
American Eagle at Taylor’s Cove
Fox – contemplating his future?
Canadian Geese with goslings. You have to look really hard to see them in the 4th photo.
Squirrel: John has lost so much weight many of you wouldn’t recognise him! Great shot Annie.
Beavers and dams: We couldn’t find a real beaver to pose for us so John offered to show us how it was done.
Loon: They have the most amazing call that carries for miles across the water. The Canadians have the Loon on their One dollar coin, which is why they call it the “Loonie”
Insect on Lake: soon to be fish food if he keeps this up.
Deer in the campground at Kenora
And just to round out this “Animal” blog here is a few of the other animal we ran into before reaching Ontario.
