Fishermen of the feathered variety

In fading light we pulled into the fishing village of Old Perlican, not far from Grates Cove mentioned in a previous blog. While taking a few photos of the harbour we noticed a lot of commotion a few hundred metres from the shore. If you look carefully at these photos you will see what we suspect are some kind of tern plummeting like arrows into the water.

I suspect you have all seen this type of event on the likes of David Attenborough’s nature TV shows but we felt very lucky to witness such a captivating spectacle.

I had the zoom fully extended and the light was fading so picture quality isn’t that good but I think you get the idea.
